How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
The hair growth cycle occurs in phases. There is the period of active new hair growth, followed by a transitional phase where active growth stops, and then a resting phase where the hair is fully formed. When the cycle repeats, the new hair growth eventually pushes out the no longer actively growing hairs. Laser hair removal works by targeting hairs that are currently in the phase of active growth. What to Expect After Your Laser Hair Removal
There is no lengthy recovery period following laser hair removal treatments. There may be some redness and swelling around the treated areas, but these issues will subside a few hours after your treatment. A cold compress can be applied to the area to help reduce swelling. The treated area may feel sensitive or tender. It is best to avoid exposing the treated areas to direct sunlight while the area recovers.
